Simple but Delicious Tomato Sauce for Pizza
When making Neapolitan-style pizza, I have one go-to sauce recipe. I don’t remember where I picked it up, but I have been using it ever since.
It is super simple and just works. This is best prepared the day before cooking.
This sauce works great with Neapolitan-style pizza or pizza al taglio. It’s also excellent with pasta or other foods.
This amount is enough for 4–5 pizzas.
Ingredients
- 1 can of San Marzano tomatoes (You can also use Mutti Polpa)
- 10 g extra virgin olive oil
- 7 g salt
- Basil (to taste)
- 2–3 cloves of garlic
Instructions
- If using whole San Marzano tomatoes, just break them up with your hands.
- Chop the garlic cloves into small pieces.
- Add salt, olive oil, and chopped garlic.
