Simple but Delicious Tomato Sauce for Pizza

When making Neapolitan-style pizza, I have one go-to sauce recipe. I don’t remember where I picked it up, but I have been using it ever since.

It is super simple and just works. This is best prepared the day before cooking.

This sauce works great with Neapolitan-style pizza or pizza al taglio. It’s also excellent with pasta or other foods.

This amount is enough for 4–5 pizzas.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of San Marzano tomatoes (You can also use Mutti Polpa)
  • 10 g extra virgin olive oil
  • 7 g salt
  • Basil (to taste)
  • 2–3 cloves of garlic

Instructions

  1. If using whole San Marzano tomatoes, just break them up with your hands.
  2. Chop the garlic cloves into small pieces.
  3. Add salt, olive oil, and chopped garlic.
  4. Add basil (as much as you like).
